From the Review Pile is a weekly meme hosted by Stephanie @ Stepping Out of the Page, every Thursday. The
aim of this meme is to showcase books that you own but haven't yet got
around to reading, in order to give the book some extra publicity.
This week, I am showcasing The Host by Stephanie Meyer.
The Host by Stephanie Meyer
Series: The Host Book 1
Published: May 6, 2008

Melanie Stryder refuses
to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over
the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. Wanderer,
the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, didn't expect to
find its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
As Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who still lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she's never met. Reluctant allies, Wanderer and Melanie set off to search for the man they both love.
Featuring one of the most unusual love triangles in literature, THE HOST is a riveting and unforgettable novel about the persistence of love and the essence of what it means to be human.
Plus, check out the trailer for The Host Movie, in theaters 3/29/13!

I gave this book a chance, and I really liked it. It's been over a year since I read it. I should re-read it and go see the movie.

I'm glad you liked it! I really want to see the movie, and that's why I grabbed it at Barnes and Noble. :)
DeleteYou know, I had never heard of this book before I started seeing the previews for the movie. But I'm just not a fan of Meyer's writing, so I look forward to see what you have to say about it. :)
