Guest Post

Hi! I am Emily's friend, Abby. I have synesthesia like Mia Whinchell in the book, "A Mango Shaped Space". I have lexical synesthesia, which means I see colors with graphemes (letters and numbers). Many ask if I literally see colored letters or if I just associate the colors with graphemes, and I actually do see colored graphemes. It's nice because my synesthesia helps me study for spelling bees.  I just remember the colors!
I don't like my real name, Abigail because the colors don't go well together. My favorite letter is "R" because it is a hard color to explain to non-synestetes and it is a color that only I know!
If you are interested in synesthesia or have synesthesia, you might like the website synesthete.org . It has cool fact6s about synesthesia, and if you are a synesthete you can take a test battery. The information is sent to a research center for synesthesia.

Thanks Abby!!!

If you have any other questions, please post them in the comment box below. They will either be answered by Abby (her username is Stargirl) or me.

Thanks for reading and have a good evening!!!!
